Priorities for the Borough

Value for money
Conservative-run H&F Council have lowered Council Tax bills by 3% again this year, in addition to delivering quality, value for money services. This is reflected in the fact that H&F is one of very few councils to receive the Audit Commission’s top rating for the quality of services. The drive for value for money and lower tax goes on.

Cleaner streets at a lower cost
Everyone wants cleaner streets. After introducing changes so that refuse and street cleaning services are competitive, specialist firm Serco are to take over delivering these services. Improvements include refuse and recycling collections to take place on the same day. Conservatives are also committed to at least weekly collections.

Cracking down on crime
This year, the borough has had 2,000 fewer crimes than last year. Actions which have led to this include the Council’s £4 million 24/7 beat policing pilots; efforts to stop drug dealing; tackle enviro-crimes such as littering and graffiti; and getting tough on anti-social tenants. There’s a lot more to do, but we are on the right track.

Priorities for Sands End

Extra money for South Park
As part of a multi-million pound project to improve parks, South Park is to get a major revamp. As well as much needed improvements to maintenance and management, the part will also see significant upgrades to key facilities. Ali de Lisle is committed to working with local residents to get the best deal for South Park.

Pushing for Imperial Wharf Station to be built
Imperial Wharf Station has been delayed too long - and pushing all those involved to get on with building it has been a key priority of H&F Council. Ever rising costs from the transport quango Network Rail are the main reason for the delay. Ali de Lisle will continue to push for this.

Protecting the riverside for everyone
The Labour Mayor of London is proposing two potentially devastating changes to the local riverside. Firstly, he is considering a major new sewerage tunnel to be built which would require new and ugly outlets along the riverbank. Secondly he wants local wharfs to be used for heavy industrial use. Ali de Lisle and local Conservatives want to see the riverside protected for everyone to enjoy.

Labour have lost all of their credibility

The local Labour Party have lost all of their credibility. Finding opposition in the Town Hall difficult, they have resorted to making wild accusations by simply adding the word ‘cuts’ to the word ‘Tory’. Their claims are so ridiculous that if you add up all their baseless claims, the figure comes to more than the Council’s annual budget!

The truth is that Conservatives are committed to value for money council services, with more money for residents’ top priorities.

Lib Dems remain in a poor third

The Liberal Democrats in Sands End are in a poor third.

In the 2006 council elections their three candidates scored between six and eight per cent, well behind the main two parties.

Only the Conservatives can keep Labour out in Sands End.

Don’t go back.

Hammersmith & Fulham is on the right track.
